The Wild Escape for Art Fund
The Wild Escape 2023
For Art Fund’s Earth Day 2023, I produced a £2m largescale, collaborative art project that connected over 100 artists, 500 museums, galleries and historic houses with over 100,000 school age children and their families, celebrated in a digital, collective artwork created with leading games company Preloaded, and collaborators at Unthinkable. Funded by Arts Council England, The project was inspired by BBC Wild Isles, and in partnership with WWF, RSPB, National Trust, English Heritage and the Save Our Wild Isles campaign.
Leading artists contributed to the project including Es Devlin, Heather Phillipson, Rana Begum, Mollie Ray, Yinka Shonibare, Tai Shani, FKA Twigs, Claire Twomey, Mark Wallinger and Jeremy Deller.
Art Fund continues to support projects involving leading contemporary artists, championing work by museum learning teams, aligning with the aim to foster a more sustainable relationship with nature. In 2025, Art Fund supported museums to take part in The Herds.
